Service Star Legion, Atlanta and Fulton county chapter records, 1920-1964.

Minutes, correspondence, news clippings, and other records of a women's service organization. The clubs's first ten years were under the leadershp of Bettie Harrison (Mrs. Samuel Dews) Jones (1863?-1928), who unveiled the Pershing Point War Memorial in 1920 and greeted both Marshal Ferdinand Foch and Charles Lindbergh on their official visits later that decade. Similarly, in the 1940's Annie (Mrs. Joseph C.) Mellichamp (1870?-1957), previous national president, led the chapter (later named for her) through World War II. Also included are scrapbook pages of the Young Matron's Service Star Legion of Atlanta and some correspondence from the national organization and other groups.
